TouringPlans previously dealt with how an Orlando Universal Annual Pass (UOAP) could save you hundreds of dollars in hotel accommodations, but how much does a family member save on a UOAP for an entire trip? Is it worth incurring a higher admission cost to save money on accommodation, food, drinks and souvenirs? In this article, I will compare vacations where normal tickets are purchased with those a person upgrades to a UOAP.
Our case study will be of a family of four: Father Homer, Mother Marge, Son Bart and Daughter Lisa (imagine Maggie staying with Patty & Selma). They will visit Universal Orlando for five days, four nights, with three days in the parks. Our lively family will spend their nuclear plant whenever they get cash:
- Four nights in a standard twin room.
- Entrance of 3 days and 2 parks
- 4 counter service meals
- Adults: Medium-priced burger meal with non-alcoholic beverage
- Kids: Tender chicken meal with a drink at an average price
- 3 full service meals
- An appetizer for the table
- Adults: a starter and an alcoholic beverage
- Children: a starter and an alcoholic beverage
- 20% tip
- Best regards
- Adults: T-shirt and household item
- Children: wand, t-shirt and sweets
We will not take into account travel costs, such as flights, driving or parking. Also, they will not visit Volcano Bay. Express Pass will only be purchased in comparison to staying off-site and on-site at a hotel that offers complementary Express Express. All hotel prices are based on a stay from 13 to 17 September.
All of the following prices and discounts are accurate as of September 10, 2021 and include taxes. Check the Universal Orlando website for the latest prices.

UOAP Discounts Vacation Cost
For this holiday, we have upgraded Homer’s ticket to a major annual pass that costs $ 479.24 with taxes. This season ticket includes the following discounts:
- Up to 25% discount in hotel rooms
- 15% discount on ticket purchased at the front door (front door tickets cost $ 20 more per ticket)
- 10% discount on non-alcoholic foods and beverages
- 10% discount on merchandise
We will take these discounts into account in the following calculations and show the UOAP savings on the right.
Let’s see how much we save by staying in Cabana Bay:
As you can see, we spend about $ 160 more on revenue (the UOAP increase is slightly offset by the discounts on admission to the amusement park it grants), although it saves $ 190 at the hotel and about $ 100 in meals and souvenirs.
Saved: $ 120.73
Saved: $ 186.43
Saved: $ 427.01
Finally, I will compare a stay at the Royal Pacific, which includes the complementary unlimited Pass Express, with the off-site stay at Crowne Point and the purchase of the unlimited Express Express Pass:
Saved: $ 2,004.44

Upgrading a ticket from a party member to UOAP can save you at least $ 120 on your vacation and, if staying at a Premier hotel, $ 400 or more. While it can be tempting to stay off-site to save some money, you’ll be given the benefits of staying on-site at Universal, such as early entry to parks, fast transportation to parks, package delivery to your hotel, and more. . In addition, the UOAP will be valid for one year, so your savings will increase even more if you return within a year.
