Our park team meets weekly at Disney theme parks recording waiting times, tasting food, immersing themselves in the atmosphere and looking for any changes that may affect your vacation. Here are eight changes that stood out to us this week.
More Disney statues!
In preparation for the 50th celebration, more statues have appeared around Walt Disney World and statues can now be found at the four theme parks.
50th monorail wrapper. . . Ish?
Appropriately, Monorail Gold got the 50th anniversary wrap with Mickey and Minnie, but it seemed a bit much. . . incomplete feeling? I get the feeling they wanted to show off the monorail gold and even though only partially wrapping the monorail feels a bit unfinished. What do you think?
More Lightning Lane signs
Ready or not, here it comes. Lightning Lane posters have been going up all over Walt Disney World.
Open the creations store
The Creations Shop, the new main EPCOT store that replaces the defunct MouseGear, opened this week. On the first day there were many people, but the members of the cast did a remarkable job of refueling goods.
The Cool Club opens
Also at Future World at EPCOT, the Cool Club, with its varieties of soft drinks from around the world that is free to try, also reopened its new location this week.
The EPCOT popcorn holder opens
Finally, in this same general area, the popcorn stand has been opened at Future World. Still, I miss the tasteful popcorn you could get outside of the imagination pavilion before. . .
New box of popcorn
Speaking of popcorn, the new 50th anniversary popcorn boxes have come out and are beautiful. Are you a fan of this design? I think it’s the bright blue color that really appeals to me.
Topiary and cake in Magic Kingdom
And finally, for this week, in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance, a Mickey and Minnie topiary has been placed, along with a celebration cake, to take pictures to celebrate this important anniversary.
That’s all for this week. Which detail makes you most excited? Let us know in the comments.
