Using the TouringPlans Lines 2.0 app for spontaneous travel: TouringPlans.com blog

Planning a trip to Disney World looks a little different today; and as new situations require new tools, the TouringPlans Lines app was updated in 2020 and early 2021 for iOS and Android devices. Today I’ll show you how to use the app’s Ride Now / Ride Anytime feature for those who want to experience the parks spontaneously.

While these are true excursion plans, saving time in the queue, it’s sometimes fun to throw away the schedule and enjoy the parks on a whim. If it’s you, the Lines 2.0 app offers a Ride Now / Ride Anytime feature to let you know when it’s the perfect time to ride in an attraction or when it’s best to wait.

We start with the home page of the application where I will select Animal Kingdom for our spontaneous park day …

Once I have selected the Animal Kingdom icon, the Animal Kingdom page lists all the shows and attractions in the park along with a brief description of the trip, ratings from our readers, height requirements and waiting times posted by Disney together with our actual expected waiting times.

Now, if you enjoy unplanned parks and have a list of attractions you want to check out, you need to know about apps Travel now suggestion that I have underlined in the image above. This occurs when the waiting time for an attraction is minimal or when the waiting times are about to increase. This is how you can jump in the queue or check back later.

Now, if you click on one of these attractions, here’s what you’ll see …

Along with additional information on attractions, you’ll see again Travel now along with a complete breakdown of why now is the best time to drive and when waiting times will increase.

If you keep scrolling, you can also see a graph illustrating projected waiting times throughout the day.

So here’s the thing. If you’re in the park with no plans but want to enjoy some of the attractions, sign in to the Lines 2.0 app and look for attractions called Ride Now and jump in the queues. That way, you can still save time on the line even if you’re without a plan. Genius!

In addition to Travel now, you can also see Go anytime or Watch any program when scrolling through the list of attractions in your park …

You can count on these extra attractions to expect little or nothing throughout the day, allowing for optimal spontaneity.

Now you know that it is possible to go through the schedules of the parks i with minimal waits. Let the Lines 2.0 app be your guide.
