In its first two years since its launch in November 2019, Disney + has become a staple food for many families around the world. From your favorite classic movies to brand new releases, it looks like you’ll never go unnoticed.
With so much growth in the first two years, many may wonder what will be next for the broadcast service. Disney CEO Bob Chapek attended Goldman Sachs ’30th Annual Communacopia Conference today and provided an insight into what fans can expect in the coming months and years.
One of the topics raised during the conversation with Chapek included the possibility of advertising at Disney +. Currently, subscribers will not see any ads playing in front of or during any content, as they would on Hulu.
Chapek noted that if advertising came to Disney +, it would look very different from Hulu, since Disney + caters to a much younger audience, specifically a very focused audience.
Chapek went on to say, “That doesn’t mean we can’t look at different opportunities in the future to increase the level of … advertising on our platforms.” For now, though, it looks like Disney is keeping things as they are.
