Disney Institute takes a look at Walt Disney World Resort’s ’50 Years of Magical Learning ‘


As Walt Disney once said, “When you’re curious, you find a lot of interesting things you can do.” And, as a Disney Parks Blog fan, you’re certainly more curious than others about Disney’s new experiences. That’s why I’m excited to share with you a look at something you may never have done before: you’ll practically venture backstage to explore the business behind magic.

Presentation 50 years of magical learning from Walt Disney World Resort, a new a la carte course from the Disney Institute created in honor of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. Join us online and learn a unique perspective on the historic transformation of Florida’s 47 square miles of wetlands into the world’s most magical vacation destination.

In this new Disney Institute online experience, you’ll choose your own learning adventure by browsing Walt Disney World Resort via an interactive map. As you hover over various locations on the map, exciting lessons will be revealed and allow you to take a “virtual” behind-the-scenes look to enjoy engaging stories, engaging videos, interactive activities, and exclusive downloads.

This self-paced adventure shows how five decades of legacy, collaboration and innovation have made Walt Disney World Resort the current destination.

Listen to current and current cast members, Disney executives, Imagineers, and operations leaders to learn how they continue to bring Walt Disney’s vision to life, while crafting their own personal legacies of leadership and vision.

Find out what it takes to line up tens of thousands of cast members around a common goal. You’ll pull back the curtain to see how Disney’s heritage, traditions, collaboration, recognition, and training are critical elements needed to create our culture. You’ll also get a look at key “backstage” areas, such as Disney University, where cast members go through their first day of training.

And, if you’ve ever wondered how cast members are capable of delivering excellent guest service, we’ll show you the method behind the magic. You will see up close the processes we have created and perfected that allow our cast to offer a first-class experience.

Registration is now open for this exciting course, with the first 20 lessons to be released on October 1 with the launch of the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. More engaging content will then be added over the next few months, resulting in more than 50 lessons to explore over a full year of a la carte access. Remember, you can go at your own pace and start / stop the content as you want to explore everything at your convenience.
