It’s hard to believe we’re just 10 days away from starting “The World’s Most Magic Celebration” and Walt Disney World’s 50thth Birthday! Like you, I have been following every announcement and I am very excited to celebrate and commemorate this unique milestone in life with all of our guests.
From working at the Main Street Emporium in the United States in Magic Kingdom Park to writing about our new product lines here on the Disney Parks blog, my career at Disney has led me to various merchandise-focused roles. Supporting our team of incredibly talented cast members who bring products and experiences to life in our stores has become one of my favorite aspects of my role.
Now, as we prepare to set the stage for this 18-month celebration, I’m very excited to share more of what’s to come that will enhance your 50th birthday.th shopping experience in certain merchandise locations. Recently, we took a look behind the magic of our Vault collection (my favorite!) Celebrating retro-themed treasures found right at The Walt Disney Archives. Today, I’m thrilled to share that our own Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs will receive a special overlay inspired by the Vault collection that will take you back to 1971 the moment you walk through the doors.
Get ready to be transported to the 70s with a nostalgic museum that invites shoppers to discover the original attractions and resorts of Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will have a unique opportunity to experiment and take part in photo opportunities with vintage accessories, including carousel horses from the Prince Charming Regal carousel, replicas of the orange bird and Tiki sculptures, as well as many accessories and exhibitions that tell stories from years past. . (I’m already planning my photos on Instagram!) I also love that in addition to the photography moments, the team has created engaging spaces where you can learn more about the history of Walt Disney World Resort, things like The Preview Center , original attractions and even in the 1971 season stations.
At Magic Kingdom Park, you’ve probably already seen a bit of the EARidescent transformation at the Emporium, and soon Main Street Cinema will receive an overlay of retro-themed inspiration from the Vault collection. It will be packed with vintage photos, colors and details, including backdrops and photo-worthy accessories inspired by beloved attractions from the history of the Walt Disney World Resort. The whole merchandise presentation team has done such an amazing job grabbing items from all over the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary merchandise collections and the creation of innovative and imaginative spaces for your experience while shopping for all your essentials.
Customers will come across these unique trade shows that elevate the 50th anniversary shopping experience at certain Walt Disney World Resort locations this fall. I can’t wait to see these spaces come to life in person and, better yet, start shopping!
