The focus is on Disney California Adventure Award Wieners – TouringPlans.com Blog

Today we review a Disney California Adventure accessory from the first day over 20 years ago, Award Wieners. This fast food restaurant in Hollywood Land hasn’t won any real awards, but as they say in Hollywood, “False until you get it”.

Visually, nothing has changed on the façade since the Wieners Award opened in 2001. (We’re not saying this is good).

First we have the Bacon Street Dog ($ 9.79). Includes a beef hot dog dipped in a roasted red pepper ketchup, topped with grilled onions, sweet peppers and crispy bacon and served on toast. It also includes “Filmstrip Fries,” which we’ll delve into later. I really liked this dog. The red pepper tomato sauce gave it a good kick and the crispy bacon is satisfying. Grilled onions and peppers also add a lot of flavor to what would be a boring hot dog on its own.

The bread is perfectly toasted, I even tasted a little buttery. What’s great is that the same bread is included with all the Award Wieners hot dogs.

Before we move on to the other dogs, let’s talk about the fries. Each dog includes thick-cut “Filmstrip Fries,” which are great. You can add chili cheese fries for $ 1.69 or $ 10.49 for a separate order of Roasted French Fries topped with Roast Meat, Cheddar Cheese, Coriander, Onion, and Guacamole.

Asada fries are very good. We are big fans of it. This is not good food nor is it healthy in any way, but it is very satisfying.

Also on the menu is Uptown Chili Dog ($ 9.99). Includes a beef hot dog topped with chili, pepper cheese and fries. I’m not a big fan of Disneyland chilli, so I didn’t think it would be as good for a dog as the Bacon Street Dog, but it’s still a good choice that most people will probably be happy with.

They definitely don’t skimp on chilli or cheese.

Finally, we have the plant-based Philly Dog ($ 10.49). It’s topped with grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers and dairy-free cream (though the image above shows my friend’s order with cheese). The Philly Dog is another solid option. There are so many flavors that I would never be able to tell the dog was plant.

Overall, Award Wieners has some great items for hot dog fans. It’s also a relatively affordable option, with hot beef dogs reaching less than $ 10. TouringPlans readers give the Wieners Awards a 90% score, placing it 24th out of 48 restaurants at Disneyland Resort.
