The cast members have always been at the center of magic at Walt Disney World Resort, creating magical memories and moments for our guests.
As Walt Disney World Resort prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, we are honoring the cast members who began their Disney careers in the beginning, in 1971. Their contributions over the past 50 years mark a true dedication to creation. of magic for our guests and inspiring their co-stars who have had the honor of working alongside them.
On the occasion of this historic moment, the members of the cast “Class of 1971” gathered to celebrate before the most magical celebration in the world from October 1.
During the special morning together, each cast member received a special memento of their new name and 50th anniversary EARidescent label, marking 50 years of continued service at Walt Disney World. They will be the first members of the cast to carry these new labels with their hearts, creating pride among this united family of magic makers.
The “1971 Class” was also gifted with Mickey ears embroidered exclusively from Walt Disney World’s new 50th anniversary Vault collection. Inspired by the vintage ears of the Walt Disney archives, these ears were only suitable for the longest-serving cast members, as they represent the rich history and heritage of Disney and pay homage to the year Walt Disney World began with first time and these cast members began their Disney professional careers.
The long-standing dedication of these cast members to the Walt Disney Company inspires us all. Walt Disney himself spent 43 years of his life building this dream, a milestone that the “1971 class” has humbly surpassed during his careers.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce you to some of the “1971 Classes” and share their Disney travel stories. Keep visiting Disney Cast Life on the Disney Parks blog to hear inexplicable stories from the last 50 years of the cast members who were there.
