Disney Cast Life Blog: Celebrating the making of a gold medal from a cast family

The cast is the heart of the magic at Walt Disney World Resort and we loved celebrating a family who has long shared their love and dedication to Disney with their daughter, Kaylin, an elite runner who met her dream of winning gold. and bronze medals on track and field at the Tokyo Olympics!

Kaylin Whitney and her parents, DuWayne Whitney and Kerrie Dworetsky, were able to celebrate together for the first time since Kaylin came home from the games and spent the day with extended family and friends celebrating at EPCOT, a special place where Kerrie has worked. for the last 15 years. The day was filled with surprises, including a special moment for family and friends to cheer on Kaylin as she “crossed the finish line” to reach the French pavilion that morning. With spectators unable to travel to Tokyo this summer, it was a time Kaylin’s friends and family had been waiting for.

Accompanied by Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Signature Experiences, Kartika Rodriguez, Vice President of EPCOT and the ambassadors of Walt Disney World 2022-2023, the group cheered with excitement as Kaylin gave the around the corner to the pavilion of France. After taking many celebratory photographs, the family was able to enjoy the parks together and was even able to experience a “look” from Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which opened on October 1 at the France Pavilion at EPCOT.

Running should “run” the family, as her father, DuWayne, a 25-year cast member who works at the Disney Vacation Club, ran a track in high school and at the University of Arkansas, inspiring Kaylin to to run. Now, Kaylin likes to travel the world doing what she loves — she said it’s the best job in the world!

Celebration of the realization of a gold medal of a family of the cast

We may have to challenge her because her mother says she loves Disney so much and hopes to one day celebrate her 50th birthday at Walt Disney World.

You can certainly “track” Disney in this family, as Kaylin’s two grandparents worked at Disney, a total of 87 years of family employment at Walt Disney World. Kaylin couldn’t wait to go home to go to Disney, and we were very happy to welcome her and her family to this special celebration.
