PHOTOS: The walls of the building are lowered into Disney World’s New Steakhouse 71 restaurant

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has been a work in progress for the past few months.
The giant tarpaulins have been blocking the corridors of the main tower as Disney renovates the rooms with a new Disney and Pixar theme Amazing. And, shortly after, the walls of the building went up to the lobby area on the first floor to make way for a reinvented restaurant instead of The Wave. But, today, things look very different from the popular hotel.
The last time we passed by Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we were greeted by a lobby full of giant black walls …

… But now the walls are DOWN revealing the entrance to the new restaurant, Steakhouse 71!

The new entrance is full of rich wood and retro touches. There is also a new hallway full of black and white images of Walt Disney.

A new digital sign is also displayed.

If you are unfamiliar, Steakhouse 71 replaces The Wave at the resort and is based on the year Walt Disney World opened – 1971. Inside, guests will find a new atmosphere that combines sleek contemporary designs, nods to Florida heritage and 70s design elements.

The new “family meat restaurant” is which will open on October 1st in time for the 50th anniversary and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. And, we’ve already got one take a look at the menu which includes “contemporary twists” to Walt Disney’s favorite foods and more.
But that’s not all there is to the restaurant: there will also be a lounge!

Reservations are now available for the new restaurant. so be sure to insure yours sooner rather than later if you want to get into it when it officially opens next week.
As of now, there are still some tarpaulins in the main tower of the contemporary complex, so it looks like Disney is still working on the room renovations.
As mentioned above, all the rooms that have undergone a major refurbishment will be reopened with a new one Incredible-themed look! Thus, you will be able to find subtle reminders of the characters on the pillows …

…curtains…

… Bathroom

… and even the closet!

Disney has not yet shared further details on when guests can start booking their stay in the new rooms, but we will keep an eye on the updates.
