As much as we would all love to tune in to the real world when we’re on vacation at Walt Disney World, in the COVID era the lines between home, vacation and work are a blur. For some people, it’s inevitable that you’ll have to do some business or school assignments while traveling to Disney. When faced with this situation, WDW business centers can be a great help.
What is a business center?
Business centers are Walt Disney World sites equipped to help people do the kind of things they can do in an office: make copies, send and receive packages, use computers, print documents, and so on.
Where are the business centers?
Not in vain, business centers are located in Walt Disney World hotels that have convention centers. These are: Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Coronado Springs and Grand Floridian hotels. All are located in convention buildings adjacent to the main hotel buildings.
Note: Swan and Dolphin have their own commercial facilities that may have different services from those detailed in this post. Also note that the Art of Animation complex has a mini-center in the lobby, with a few computers and a photocopier, but no shipping services.
What are the business center hours?
Business center hours may vary, depending on whether there are a large number of attendees at a similar conference or event, but business centers generally meet business hours, such as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. .
If you want to go to the business center on other occasions, it is logical that your hotel reception should call the center to make sure it is open.
I do not stay in any of the hotels with convention center. Can I use the Business Center there?
Yes. Guests at any Disney hotel can use any of the business centers.
However, if you come from another hotel, you may want to think about parking. Hotels with business centers are located in places with easy access to the theme park. Parking door guards typically require non-guests to have a confirmed dining reservation in order to park. You may be able to invite them to park near the convention center, but nothing is guaranteed. To ensure access, you may want to plan on using Disney’s free transportation system or taking a taxi / Uber / Lyft.
I need to use a computer. Can I do this in business centers?
Yes. Desktops are available (for a fee) at the malls.
They can be useful if you are on holiday with your phone / tablet only, and unexpectedly a job appears that requires a long letter or a larger screen. These will also work fine if you brought your own laptop to WDW, but it breaks down and you need a backup.
I need to make copies. Can I do this at the Business Center?
Yes. Full service photocopiers are available at the centers.
However, if you only need to copy a handful of black and white pages, there will be nothing wrong with asking your resort’s concierge for help. Nothing is guaranteed, but I have had several copies at the concierge for myself several times without any problems.
In business centers you can get color copies or large quantities. They can also scan or fax documents for you.
I bought too much at Walt Disney World, can the Business Center send me things home?
For sure. Business centers can send items via UPS or FedEx. Standard carrier rates apply, plus a small service fee.
If you buy items at Disney-owned stores, it may be easier for the store to ship the purchase directly to your home (prices are similar). If you want to buy a lot of items in a non-Disney store at Disney Springs (Uniqlo or Anthropologie, for example), we recommend that you consider whether your overall cost will be lower if you place an order through their website. and you have items shipped directly home that way.
For same-day shipping, you must process your items at the center by 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Items received after 4:30 pm on Friday will be shipped on Monday unless special handling has been requested.
If you decide to ship things, business centers also sell boxes and packing supplies.
Anything else you should know about shipping?
If you are staying in a hotel with a business center and have sent a package by e-mail, you may need to pick it up at the center. There are handling costs related to this; prices vary depending on the weight of the package.
I just need to email a letter, do I have to go to the Business Center to do it?
Your hotel’s concierge desk sells stamps (as do many of the property’s shops) and may provide you with a standard business envelope. There are regular USPS mailboxes located in all lobbies of Walt Disney World hotels.
I need a notarized document while I’m at Disney World. Help!
Business centers have notarial services, available for $ 10 per stamp.
I need to print a boarding pass for my flight, can I do it at the Business Center?
This was a common question for many years. The answer is yes, you can print a boarding pass at the centers, but the real answer now is: you don’t have to. Save yourself a lot of time and download your airline app. You can use the app to register for the flight and obtain an electronic boarding pass. If this makes you uncomfortable, just check out the app and get a paper boarding pass at the airport.
