What we are talking about: news and rumors from Disney and Universal Orlando
First of all, I mean … Happy birthday Walt Disney World! 50 has never looked so good and I am so excited to celebrate with you!
Also celebrating? There are several members of the Walt Disney World cast who have worked at the resort for 50 years. Congratulations to them!
Southwest Airlines has teamed up with Walt Disney World to celebrate the resort’s 50th anniversary. Southwest unveiled a Boeing 737-700 that includes the 50th anniversary logos of Southwest Airlines and the Walt Disney World complex, with EARidescent touches on the outside and inside. It looks really cool! How cool would it be to fly on this plane as a Disney fan?
Disney is facing new attempts to end the copyrights of comic book author heirs, including Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko, and one has to wonder if history will repeat itself. What is the story? Check out this article to find out. It’s intriguing.
Joe says: I doubt Disney will miss it, but it’s a tricky issue due to Disney’s own imposition of copyright law.
You’ve seen the new trailer for the upcoming movie, charm? What do you think of the film so far?
Julia is excited: I’m absolutely thrilled to see the trailer for this and I think it’s the kind of movie I would like. However, it doesn’t seem to have much resonance for younger audiences. That may not be a problem. In many ways, for me it has the same kind of “made for large audiences with life experience” that had something like Inside Out.
If you liked the Disney + program, Mysterious Benedict Society, I bring you good news. The show was renewed for a second season. The show is based on the book series of the same name by Trenton Lee Stewart. The series follows four gifted orphans who are recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict. The second season picks up when the team of four intrepid orphans reunite a year after their first mission, when they were reunited by Mr. Benet and his cohorts to thwart the disastrous “emergency.” Created by Benet’s twin brother, Dr. LD Curtain.
Becky, however, will not see season 2: I watched the first two episodes of the first season and couldn’t get into it. I rarely do shows in the middle of the season, but this one didn’t cut it for me.
Following the leadership of Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort will relax its dress code for team members, allowing for visible tattoos, makeup for everyone and more.
Joe is happy with the change: It is wonderful to see that Universal following Disneys leads to expanding acceptable preparation standards. I’ve noticed that VelociCoaster team members match nail polish with uniforms, so I’m thrilled to see what other creative things the team members do.
