We are only FIVE months away from the grand opening of the new Disney World Star Wars Hotel – Galactic Starcruiser!
We’ve been updating you with all the news about restaurants, entertainment, pricing and more before bookings become available this month. I, we now have more details on how guests staying at the hotel will be able to mix up their tour visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with your stay on board!
During your second day aboard the Galactic Starcruiser, guests will have the opportunity to travel to the planet Batuu (also known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Studios in Hollywood) to explore the outer edge.
Here, everyone is encouraged to see the sights, try some of the local food like Ronto Wraps and of course some shopping. And, now we know those who choose to stop at Droid Depot to create their own customizable droid will have access to an exclusive activity once on board.
Disney has announced that guests will be able to do so participate in your custom droid in a racing competition later that day at the Galactic Starcruiser. But, it’s important to keep in mind that at least one person on the competing team must be 14 or older.
Disney has a rule that guests cannot remotely control their droids in parks as courtesy of others. But Disney did notice droids can be controlled remotely on board the starcruiser, so there may be even more opportunities to use them during your stay.
Note that astromechanical droids cost money $ 99.99 per Droid Depot unit, so you’ll want to budget it out if you want to enter the competition. And, as we approach the Star Wars great opening of the hotel, we will be sure to inform you of everything you need, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more information.
