Hong Kong Disneyland recognizes advocates for safety and well-being

Safety is always a top priority at all Disney parks and resorts, and cast members play an important role in promoting the health and safety of both our cast and guests. Recently, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort held its annual safety and wellness recognition event to recognize the teams that have contributed in this regard. It was also a great opportunity for different lines of business to exchange their safety and wellness projects and share good practices.

The Disney Heroes Award was also announced at the event and the honors went to security manager Fung Siu, security chief Andy Tsang and security host Tracy Chan. Together, they helped save lives by responding immediately to an incident, applying DAE, and performing CPR before paramedics arrived. Fung shared: “We are honored to receive this award. I feel great to be able to save someone’s life and I’m glad they’re back in the hospital now. ”

11 awards were presented by CEO Michael Moriarty and Senior Vice President of Operations Tim Sypko. Katie Kelly, vice president of global security services at Disney Parks, and Dr. Pamela Hymel, chief medical officer of Disney Parks, joined the celebration through a previously recorded video and shared their spirits with the Hong Kong team.

“I am happy to see that the members of our cast always take the security key into account, regardless of the job or not. And I would like to thank once again all the teams for excelling their creativity and passion in making the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort a safe place to work and enjoy for fellow cast members and guests, ”said Joseph Yip, director of Security, Safety and Fire Health services in the complex.
