A Solution to Introduce Lightning Lane Return Times to the Lines App (Only This Week) – TouringPlans.com Blog

We’ve been working hard updating the TouringPlans Lines app to work with all the changes coming to Walt Disney World. We still have to test the changes and know all the ways Disney Genie, Genie +, Light Lanes and Individual Attraction Selection / Individual Lightning Lane Selections work. In the meantime, here are some tricks to help us and you. We expect an update to the Apple app and Android Lines before the end of October.

Using a route plan and Lightning Lane

Step 1: Create a travel plan

Create a new travel plan with all the attractions, breaks and meals you want.

Step 2: Select a Lightning Lane return time in the MyDisneyExperience app

At or after 7:00 a.m., using the MyDisneyExperience app, select a Lightning Lane return time.

Select an attraction from your TouringPlan with a high expected waiting time and an early return time. With the example above, we chose Haunted Mansion with a Lightning Lane return time of 12:15.

Step 3: Update your travel plans

For this temporary solution, we will add a placeholder (in this case, as food) to the itinerary plan to represent the time of the Lightning Lane reservation. Add a “Lightning Lane reservation” to a tour plan by clicking the edit button. Click the “Meals” button. Find a fast food restaurant near the attraction. Set the time to 30 minutes after the Lightning Lane return time. Set the duration to 30 minutes and the flexibility to 30 minutes. Click Save and Save Plan.

Remove the attraction for which you have a Lightning Lane reservation from the plan and click the Optimize button.

After optimizing the plan, the restaurant added is the time period to use Lightning Lane.

Step 4: Go through and repeat

Follow the travel plan. Mark attractions as “finished” while working on the plan. Repeat steps 2-3 for additional Lightning Lane return times.

Alternative solutions

• If you are unfamiliar with Disney restaurant locations, use one to break instead of one food. The walking times of the plan will be less accurate.
• If a file is added to break or food It seems too complicated, just skip this step. After obtaining the Lightning Lane attraction reservation:
  • Suppress the attraction of the plan
  • Optimize the plan
  • Follow the plan to the return window
  • Drive your Lightning Lane attraction
  • Get your next Lightning Lane reservation through the MyDisneyExperience app

Lightning lane timeout synchronization

The updated Lines app will allow users to time the wait time on Lightning Lane. Lightning Lane wait times will be very important in our statistical models. In the meantime, to help us, tweet your Lightning Lane wait times with the hashtag #LLwaittimes. Remember to include the name of the attraction.
