When you go to Spotify to stream your favorite podcast, sometimes you’re looking for an active listening experience – with the option to engage more deeply with the content you’re listening to. That’s why we’ve included video podcasts in addition to our audio offerings so fans can get to know their favorite podcast hosts better and producers can connect more deeply with their viewers.

When we started launching video podcasts on Spotify, we tested the format with a variety of Spotify originals. Since then, we’ve seen that our users want the option to easily switch between audio and video depending on where they are, what they’re doing and what they’re enjoying. So today, we’re starting a big expansion of our video podcast catalog by putting it in the hands of the creators.

Soon, Spotify users will be able to watch a lot more video podcasts on the platform as we open up access for manufacturers to start publishing video podcasts on Spotify. This tool will be accessible via Spotify’s podcasting platform Anchor, and will provide a seamless way for developers to upload and publish video content to Spotify.

We’ll be rolling out on a rotating basis with a number of key producers, including existing podcasters who are expanding into video, as well as video creators looking to expand their offerings to Spotify audiences. Some of these include Philip DiFranco, Garvey audio experience, Jasmine Chiswell, The WAN show, Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald, Mark Manson, Tap with Harry Jaussie, And many more to come. These shows are joined by Spotify Originals and Exclusive The Ringers. Higher education with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay And Joe Rogan experience. Expect to see more original video podcasts from Spotify in the future.

Ready to take the watch And A listening? Here’s how to find video content:

  1. Open the Spotify mobile app.
  2. Navigate to the show you’re excited about and go to the episode page.
  3. Press “Play” in a podcast episode.
  4. Tap the play bar at the bottom of the screen to watch the video in full screen.
  5. Sit back, listen and watch! (Or if you just want to go back to listening, you can do so very easily).

More video podcasts will be coming to Spotify soon, so keep an eye on your favorite producers and shows.
