What’s new in EPCOT: test track construction and Disney Genie debut

Hello a EPCOT!

The Earth spacecraft looks good!

We like to regularly check out what’s going on at all Disney World parks so we can stay up to date, so let’s take a look at news at EPCOT!

EPCOT construction updates

We took a look more construction from the monorail on our way to the park.

We want the construction to end.

In Future World, the great transformation of EPCOT continues as the old one is torn down to make way for the new one.

There is also one new giant hole and open to the ground behind one of the work walls.

What’s going on here?

While we were at the monorail, we realized that the walls have been removed on the bridge between Future World and World Showcase.

No more walls!

The removal of the walls revealed that the the pad that had been here here is no longer there

More than a Test track, there is some construction at the exit of the promenade where the store is located.

Here’s a look from a different angle.

Work is being done on the test track

We will keep you up to date if we know what they are working on.

Additional EPCOT updates

Disney Genie has debuted at Disney World and we tested it at EPCOT. In case you didn’t know, Genie is a free planning program that is now part of My Disney Experience. He helped us plan our day at EPCOT and in fact gave us some fantastic suggestions. With their expected waiting times, Genie was able to recommend that we travel Frozen Ever After when the wait was shorter than usual and we had a gap in our schedule.

Disney Genie has been released.

There is also Genie +, which has replaced the Disney World FastPass system and costs $ 15 per day and per person. Genie + allows you to make reservations to use the Lightning Lane (formerly FastPass + lane) of 46 amusement parks. You can do one reservation at a time, except for the file 120 minute rule, which we explain here.

And finally, there are selections of individual attractions or paid-per-trip attractions. These are high-demand trips that you can pay individually to use your Lightning Lanes to jump the waiting line. These attractions are not included with Genie + and there are 2 in each park. The two attractions in EPCOT that you can pay individually are Frozen Ever After

… i Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! You can only drive Remy via the virtual queue or individual Lightning lane, so if you don’t get a boarding pass for the trip, you can purchase access with Lightning Lane, subject to availability. But, you can too ride Remy twice a day now! First you can get a boarding pass for the virtual queue, and then you can also buy a Lightning Lane card. So far, both have been the prices of these two trips in EPCOT $ 9 per person.
