We recently tasted many 50th anniversary delights at Disney World.
There were some winners and also some that were … interesting. But today we stopped at one of the BEST gift sites in all of EPCOT (in our opinion, anyway) to try another 50th anniversary treat, and (spoiler alert) this is one you don’t want to miss.
As we walked around the World Showcase, we decided to stop Caramel kitchen in the German Pavilion at EPCOT.
There are many different delicacies to buy (and love here), but one of our FAVORITES is the salted caramel cupcake. So you can imagine our joy when we saw it this cupcake was available with a fantastic 50th anniversary makeover!
This cupcake is made of a dark chocolate cake with salted caramel butter cream iced on top. It is decorated with Celebration sprinkles, a splash of candy and a milk chocolate icon “50”.. You can get one for $ 5.99.
The cake was very sweet and tasted more like a rich chocolate brownie than a chocolate cake, which was very beautiful! It was dense and thick in the best possible way.
The salted caramel butter cream contrasted wonderfully with the dense cake as it was soft and light. The ice cream was also served cold, which was very nice because today in Florida it was quite hot (shocking, we know).
The candy wasn’t too powerful, even with that lightning above. But you could still taste it, and we loved the touch of sweetness it brought to the snack in general.
Our only complaint with this cupcake is this the wrapper dyed our fingers blue. Since a good portion of the other 50th birthday candies also dyed us blue (usually because the delight itself was blue, not just the wrapper), we think we can forgive this one.
This is still one of our all-time favorite delights at Disney World, and the 50th Additional Booster only makes it better. If you’re a chocolate lover who likes candy, we think it’s something you’ll love. If, on the other hand, you’re a fan of pure vanilla cupcakes, you might want to skip it.
Go to Caramel kitchen if you want to try it!
