All great movie adventures have a plot twist, right?
A few months ago, Disney Cruise Line shared new details about the epic program “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” that we are developing for Worlds of Marvel, the most ambitious dining experience of the fleet, which will be released aboard the Disney Wish next summer. By now, you already know the story and the characters that will appear on the restaurant screen … but there is one. quite important detail you haven’t heard yet.
I am so excited to share that the world famous stars of the Marvel movie universe are lending their talent to this unique adventure of its kind! In Worlds of Marvel, our guests will be part of a real-life Avengers mission as they watch some of their favorite heroes in action: Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Vespa, Anthony Mackie as Captain America and Brie Larson. like Captain Marvel!
Kerry Condon will also reprise his FRIDAY voice role, and actor Ross Marquand will lend his poor vocal skills to Ultron.
The show will follow Ant-Man and The Wasp as they host a presentation of the world’s most powerful superhero technologies, including a hands-on demonstration of the latest and greatest Pym technology. But when Ultron appears with an army of robot sentinels eager to take control of this world-changing technology, Ant-Man and The Wasp will need all the help they can get to save the day, by calling Captain America, the Captain Marvel and even. the brave Disney Wish diners in support. Oh, and there’s one more superhero who will make a surprise appearance during the show. I can’t wait to share more about this at a later date.
What happens next? You will need to browse to see …
Seriously, we weren’t kidding when we called this a cinematic gastronomic adventure! To bring this action-packed show to life, we’ve specially designed the restaurant with immersive cinematic technology, which includes hundreds of screens and special effects embedded everywhere. Filming with the actors is over and we are now working on the editing and effects of the post-production. (Here’s another secret: since most of the battle takes place on the top decks of the ship, we’re actually recreating it in photorealistic CGI while the real Disney Wish is still under construction. All right, right?)
As an Imagineer and a Marvel fan, it has been a dream opportunity to collaborate with Marvel Studios on this project. “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” has been running for three years, and I’m very excited for our guests to see it for themselves in the summer of 2022.
