Every week, our team goes shopping in the parks, and sometimes buys. There are still a few days left for Halloween, but in the world of Disney merchandise it is starting to look a lot like Christmas. Winter items and holiday decorations are beginning to occupy the park’s shops. Here’s a look.
Ceramic Christmas trees have been a staple of Disney merchandise for the past few years. This version includes lighted ornaments and a bright star as a topper. Images printed on the tree include Mickey and Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, a sled, snowmen and a castle. This would be a perfect holiday night light for a child’s room.
Dooney & Bourke holiday print bags
Dooney & Bourke bags are a very popular gift item. This year we have a winter print with classic characters enjoying snow sports. This print comes in various bag styles. While the art is adorable, I find that the holiday theme limits the usefulness of these items a bit: it’s something you’re unlikely to use during all weeks except a few weeks a year. An alternative would be the beloved Dooneys below featuring Jerrod Maruyama’s Kingdom of Cute designs.
Cold weather accessories
It’s still a bit steamy in Florida, but believe it or not, there are days when you want to get together in the parks. This cozy set of hat and scarf will keep you warm without weighing you down. These items are also a great gift for Disney fans living in cooler weather.
Child character Fuzzy Fleece
Yes, these wool sweaters are a great layer to keep kids warm when temperatures drop. No, WE DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON’T MAKE THESE ADULT SIZES.
Honorable Mention: Polynesian Resort merchandise
We saw a lot of new merchandise items at the Polynesian hotel. This retro glassware is * the chef’s kiss *: a must-buy for tiki bar fans.
Would any of these items have been incorporated into your purchased stack? Let us know in the comments.
