The situation of the Disney World parking lot is so bad that it is now a joke in the afternoon

It has been almost 18 months since Disney World began its gradual reopening after the temporary closure due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Although most restaurants, hotels, and experiences have now reopened (at least in a modified capacity), there are still many things that remain closed. But one big thing many Disney fans have wondered is when parking trams can return to the parks. I, now it seems that even night comics are questioning his return by making Disney the subject of a joke.

A few days ago, NPR shared an article about inflation and how COVID-19 is affecting customer service across the country. He The long-term closure of trams at both Disney World and Disneyland was used as an example, with the publication that says so Disney is “forcing visitors to walk nearly a mile to get in and out of the parks.”

And criticism of the car’s long round trip was picked up by The Late Show host Stephen Colbert in a short time he did it in the air. Colbert quotes the NPR article and then continues coining a new name for the walk by calling it “Simba Boiling Asphalt Walk”.

Depending on when you visit, you can definitely feel that way!

Now, Disney has announced that the parking trams will return to Disneyland in early 2022, therefore, guests visiting the west coast parks will not have to walk from their car to the park for much longer. Despite this, no return schedule has been announced for Disney World streetcars.

Could the trams return to Disney World soon?

At Disney World you can still see the colorful vehicles sitting in the farthest corners of the parking lots, waiting for them to speed up again. But staff shortages and previous physical distancing measures are likely to be the cause of their delayed return.

Disney World Trams

Recently, we saw a job posting on Disney’s Career website looking for a member of the part-time parking cast, so there’s a chance the trams will return sooner than we might think.
