Bengal Barbecue is a fast food restaurant at Disneyland’s Adventureland. Its menu consists of meats and vegetables, all served on skewers. The intoxicating aroma of grilled meats flows through Adventureland, making it one of the only Disneyland restaurants you’ll smell before you see them. Does the taste match the tempting aromas? Keep reading to find out. Starting with my favorite skewer from the heap, the Banyan beef skewer with hot, spicy sauce. I dream of this sauce. It’s fantastic, perfectly spicy, and the gloriously tender pieces of beef submerge it magnificently. No kidding, I grab a spoon and drink the remaining sauce like a soup after the skewer is gone. The downside, as is the same with all menu items, is the price. You won’t get much food here for $ 6.49.
The Chieftain chicken skewer with a Polynesian sauce seems to be the favorite of the guests based on my observations on how many people I’ve seen eating it. Also, the restaurant grill usually has an overwhelming majority of chicken skewers at some point. Is good! The Polynesian sauce is spicy and sweet, and the chicken itself is tender and juicy.
Going back to the price, $ 5.99 gives you 4 and a half inches of chicken. I don’t know of any part of the world where grocery stores sell you meat based on length, but this is the best unit of measurement you could find in the field. The Safari Skewer is six pieces of asparagus wrapped in bacon served on a skewer. This was good and provides a great “gotcha” moment in case anyone tries to tell you not to eat enough vegetables. I’ve only had Safari Skewer a few times over the years, and each time the bacon has been weak. I’d rather it be a little more crunchy, but that’s a minor complaint.
The Bengal Barbecue will occasionally offer a special drink on the menu. These are usually those super sugary muddy drinks you’d find at a gas station.
Bengal Barbecue is opposite Indiana Jones Adventure and Tarzan’s Treehouse in Adventureland.
The restaurant grill is visible from the order and pick-up counters.
Bengal barbecue is so popular that in 2017 a seating area was created in an old gift shop. Think about it for a second. Disney closed a gift shop to make room for people to sit and relax. Unreal!
Overall, Bengal Barbecue has a great selection of skewers that are very tasty. Over the years, prices have gone up a lot while the meat portion has plummeted, which is really unfortunate. But it seems the price does nothing to hurt its popularity, even with TouringPlans.com and readers of the unofficial Disneyland Guide, which 93% value positively.
