We have been following the progress being made on the next Brightline train, which is currently under construction in some areas of Florida. Now, we’re starting to learn more about how exactly stops will be included on the train’s 325-mile route.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the Brightline train could have up to a dozen stations between Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Two of the dozen proposed stations would be located at Disney Springs and Orlando International Airport, allowing guests to travel directly to Disney World once their flight arrives.

Other proposed stops would include existing stations in MiamiCentral, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, as well as online stations in Boca Raton, Adventure, an additional station in PortMiami, Treasure Coast, Space Coast and Lakeland.

The approaching question around Brightline, however, is the timeline projected to build and open the route. Right now, Orlando’s expansion to West Palm Beach is expected to end in late 2022; however, last summer it was announced that the Central Florida Highway Authority decided to indefinitely delay a decision on the route the Brightline train can take between Orlando Airport and Tampa.

The Orlando Business Journal also shared that “Brightline previously presented a schedule proposal with the construction of the initial phase of the railroad from Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs to Walt Disney World Resort starting in the first quarter of 2024 , pending approvals “. The rest of the route to Tampa may begin work as early as the second quarter of 2025.
