In October, Disney World introduced the new Disney Genie + system!

This new offering is the paid replacement for Disney World’s old FastPass + system, which allows guests who buy it to schedule schedules to skip queues for various attractions. There are definitely some important changes with Genie + that you need to get used to, and since you’re paying for it, you’ll want to use it to the fullest to get the value of your money. So where should you stand in Park Hopping? Is Park Hopping worth it if you buy Disney Genie +?

How does Park Hopping Disney Genie + change?

Let’s start with the basics. To use Disney Genie +, you must have a Disney Park Pass for one of the four parks of the day. You will need to visit this park and scan first before jumping to your second park.

You will need to scan your first park before jumping.

All guests with Genie + can make their first Genie + choice of the day at 7am. To get the most out of your Genie + when you do it at Park Hopping, you’ll want to make your first Genie + reservation early in the day, use it and book another one immediately afterwards. The more Genie + selections you can make and use, the more your money will be worth!

As you prepare for Park Hop, you can go to the Suggestion Board tab from the My Disney Experience app i change the park you visit. Once you do, you can see the availability of Genie + from 14:00. (That’s when Park Hopping starts every day!) You can also set up your plans for the next park on the My Day tab by scrolling to the bottom.

In short, the process of booking Genie + selections does not change much. And if you do Park Hop, you’ll still be subject to the 120-minute rule.

Is it helpful to go to the park with Disney Genie +?

So does Park Hop help when you have Genie +? Well, sometimes he does. It really depends on the park you visit and the occupation of the parks during your visit.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

For example, it took us a whole day to do everything at Magic Kingdom, even using the assistance of Genie +, Individual Lightning Lanes, and the free Disney Genie. On the other hand, we were able to use Genie + to remove everything in EPCOT and Animal Kingdom without even spending whole days in the parks.

You may not need it at EPCOT

If you are scheduling a day to visit Animal Kingdom or EPCOT, you may want to jump to another park after completing everything on your to-do list to get your total value of $ 15 per person. This can be especially useful if you keep in mind that you can only make one Genie + selection for each trip once a day; it’s a big difference when you can use Genie + 17 times in Magic Kingdom, but only 8 times in Animal Kingdom.

There are a few things to keep in mind

However, there are some important things to keep in mind in all of this. First of all, you don’t need to buy Genie + for every day of your trip, specifically if you do not travel during the peak season. These $ 15 per ticket (plus taxes) per day can add up very quickly, and you may not want to spend the money to buy it for EPCOT and Animal Kingdom if you can still get it all at these parks in one day.

LOW waiting time in Animal Kingdom

If you buy Genie + before the trip, it is only offered as a supplement to the entire package of tickets. However, if you only want it for a couple of days (and not all), you can purchase it through the My Disney Experience app starting at midnight on the day of your trip. Remember it for all members of your party!

And in addition to the cost of Genie +, there is also the price of the Park Hopper add-on to consider. Upgrading your tickets from the “base” option can cost more than $ 60, so you’ll want to make that decision wisely. Don’t upgrade if you don’t need to jump! If you don’t want to buy Park Hopper during your entire visit, you can add it during the day to the park box office during your trip.

Is Park Hop worth it?

Buying these two add-ons can make your trip more expensive hundreds of dollars, so consider your options and use the numbers before you buy. In some cases, it might be cheaper to add a day of tickets to the park and use the extra time to get the things you care about to fit into your schedule. It really depends on personal preferences.

Make the bills before you spend more!
