The TouringPlans team at the park can try lots of food and drink. From fast service locations to table service meals and snacks in between, we try many different foods to help keep our site information up to date. Sometimes the food and drinks are wonderful. Other times, not so much. But what really climbed to the top? Here are the top 3 food or drink options the park team has tried this week.

Donuts

The French Quarter of Port Orleans has reopened and that means donuts are back. I think it’s worth repeating THE BEIGNETS ARE BACK! Freshly made fried spots of goodness pasty are available in the dining area. They are an essential element every time we visit Port Orleans. And we can say that we were not the only ones excited about the return of this article: we saw traces of powdered sugar all over the resort. Oh, and now there’s also adorable donut merchandise available. So funny!

Olivia’s chicken

We ventured to Olivia’s in Old Key West and opted for this classic chicken milkshake entree, served with mashed potatoes, gravy, cookies and green beans. This is a basic element, but they do it very well: it’s a comforting meal for adults at their best. Professional advice: you can order the mobile phone and turn it on if you don’t feel like eating it in the restaurant.

50th Chocolate Gateaux of the celebration

Find this absolutely stunning chocolate confectionery at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park’s Tiffins Restaurant. The cake, special for the 50th anniversary celebration of Disney World, includes almond praline, white chocolate cream, ganache and chocolate-yellow sauce. The presentation is impeccable and the combination of flavors is even better. This is what we will try again.

Honorable Mention: Autumn Sweets

The “Celebration of Autumn Cupcake” at Animal Kingdom is one of the most beautiful Disney cupcakes we’ve seen in a long time, and we’ve seen a lot of beautiful cupcakes. This is a pumpkin pie with a toffee cheesecake filling and cinnamon icing. The flavor profile is exactly autumn and the ice cream is not too sweet.

The Grand Floridian offers two new desserts for the fall. The cupcake with autumn flavors is a cinnamon spice cake with apple filling, topped with pumpkin sugar and maple butter cream. And the pumpkin pie cake is a chocolate-covered (orange) pumpkin spice cake. We liked the touch of maple added to the autumn profile of the cupcake, in addition we must give props to bakers who did not give in to the siren song of Christmas sweets.

Honorable Mention: Christmas Delights, the usual suspects

Um, did we say the word Christmas? Well, the park’s bakery counters now include all of their standard treats: cookies, krispie treats, cupcakes, and caramel apples, all decorated with red and green icing. These are the same items that are always in the parks, but ready for winter.

Honorable Mention: Christmas Delights, Beach Club Edition

The gingerbread carousel is back in the Beach Club lobby. (We missed it last year!) A stand next to the carousel offers chunks of gingerbread as well as an assortment of other sweets.
