The on-site races return after the Disney Wine & Dine half marathon

Last weekend, more than 30,000 runners returned to the on-site races at the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend Powered by Aftershokz. During the four days of the event, runners participated in the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Two Course Challenge (running the 10K and Half Marathon). He was the first to runDisney event at the Walt Disney World Resort since early 2020. Let’s take a look at some of the key moments of the weekend.

Runners experienced some wet conditions during Friday’s 5K, but that didn’t calm their spirits. Participants celebrated The Evil Queen of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” running 3.1 miles for EPCOT.

Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” starred in Saturday’s 10K. Participants took on the role for their 6.2-mile run for Walt Disney World Resort, including Disney Hollywood Studios and the Boardwalk Resort area, eventually finishing in EPCOT.

Sunday’s conditions were ideal for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, where runners tested their endurance in the 13.1-mile race. Along the way, runners came across several sightings of Disney characters, including Kronk from “The Emperor’s New Groove.”

The half marathon was especially sweet for New Jersey runner Megan Curham, who not only beat all the women on the field to the finish line, but also all the men, doubling the same feat she achieved in the Disney Wine & Dine’s last Half Marathon. 2019.

It was Curham’s third straight win in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon after finishing first among the women in 2018 and overall in 2019. And her 1:15:33 victory time set a new race record.
