Whether you’re heading to Disney World soon or want to keep up to date with the latest updates, we have all the news of the changes that are taking place in parks and hotels.
Sometimes Disney World will close a trip, restaurant, or attraction for technical, weather, or scheduled maintenance reasons. Let’s take a look at what’s scheduled to close at Disney World next week so you’re aware of what’s not available during your trip.
We’ll start by looking at Disney World parks.
Magic Kingdom closures
Mickey’s PhilharMagic has been closed for the past month because imaginators were adding a new scene inspired by Coco to the attraction.
But here we have good news … this attraction is already OPEN at Fantasyland!

He Walt Disney World Railroad not so lucky, unfortunately. This attraction has been closed for a long time and it looks like it will not open soon.
In Tomorrowland, construction of the nearby roller coaster TRON: Lightcycle Run disrupted the railroad tracks, meaning the beloved train cannot run right now.
We do not expect this trip to reopen until the construction of TRON is completed, which will likely happen. sometime next year.
Enclosures of the animal kingdom
A popular water walk is still closed at Animal Kingdom.
Kali River Rapids has been closed for scheduled maintenance, and is not expected to reopen until January 1, 2022.
Until then, take a look at the nearby Expedition Everest Roller Coaster or head to Na’vi River Journey in Pandora for another (albeit much quieter) boat ride option.
Disney World hotel closures
At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, the Big Pine Key building has begun its transformation into Disney Vacation Club villas.
The rooms will be converted into 200 tourist studios, which are open in the summer of 2022.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has not yet opened. This hotel was scheduled to open in December this year, but Disney announced that its reopening will be delayed indefinitely due to more interior work.
Disney’s Port-Orleans Riverside Resort reopened last month, but Boatwright’s Dining Hall didn’t open with it.
