The global pandemic has continued to have an impact on Disney theme parks.
Guidelines have changed for Disney World and Disneyland since they reopened, international travel has resumed, and Disney employees must be vaccinated. Disney’s international parks have different guidelines, but one park had to close recently due to a suspicious case of Covid-19 positive.
Hong Kong Disneyland closed on Nov. 17 as staff and visitors underwent Covid testing after a recent visitor gave a preliminary positive for the virus, according to CNN. It is now November 18 in Hong Kong and the park has remained closed.
On the Hong Kong Disneyland website, it says that “The government issued a mandatory test notice requiring all people to be present at the park at any time during the period from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on the 14th. November (Sun) to be subject to mandatory tests for COVID-19 on or before November 18 (Sun).
He also says “With great caution, Hong Kong’s Disneyland Park will be closed on November 17 (dmec) to ensure that relevant cast members can complete the test sooner. Guests are advised to plan to visit the park on November 17. that they visit it another day “.
A similar case happened last month, when entry to Shanghai Disneyland and its Disneytown shopping district was suspended due to a single confirmed positive case of Covid-19. Upon leaving, guests had to undergo tests on departure.
According to CNN, under current Hong Kong Covid containment measures, all guests entering restaurants, cinemas and other places must register using a local tracking app. People identified as close contacts of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 should be tested for the virus and may be sent to mandatory quarantine.
To visit Hong Kong Disneyland, guests must undergo a temperature check, wear face masks and scare away the QR code “LeaveHomeSafe” or register their contact details as required by the regulations.
