Disneyland is changing the way guests spend Rise of the Resistance

So far, Disneyland has not yet released the Genie + program that was recently launched at Disney World.

Today we learned that Disneyland will start testing a waiting line for a very popular trip soon, possibly as they begin to prepare to release Genie +. This trip will have a hybrid / virtual queue waiting line, and this is how it will work.

According to the OC Register, Disneyland will begin testing a waiting line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance on Monday, November 22nd. They will start the day with the waiting line and activate the virtual queue on selected days and times. This means some days they may be on standby all day, while other days they may have both options.

Rise of the Resistance is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and right now uses a virtual queue that allows guests to secure boarding groups. Access to the boarding group starts at 7:00 and then at 12:00, but will stop as the waiting line is being tested.

As reported by OC Register, when activated on certain days and times, the virtual queue will require guests to already be at Disneyland to obtain boarding passes. This is different from its previous policy that allowed access from anywhere.

Guests can check out the Disneyland app throughout the day to see if the virtual queue will be activated, and remember that you must be inside Disneyland to pick up a boarding pass. We will be watching this process when it starts early!
