Star Wars: The Rise of Resistance it’s still an incredibly popular walk in Disney parks.
At Disney World, the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance has currently been suspended, but guests wishing to ride this attraction at Disneyland have yet to catch one of these elusive boarding groups. But soon, things at Disneyland could change!
In accordance with The Orange County Registry, Disneyland will “test” the waiting line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Galaxy’s Edge next week. Yes, this means that fans can have the opportunity to ride this popular trip WITHOUT having to sign up for a boarding group.
The OC Register says this is being tested as Disneyland “prepares for the launch of the new Genie + pay-line service.” Disneyland will test a “hybrid” combination of a waiting line and a virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland starting Monday, November 22nd.
Earlier in the day, Disneyland will begin with a queue for Rise of the Resistance (no need to queue virtual). But, the park could activate the virtual queue on certain days and times.
This is a bit similar to what we saw doing on WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at Disney California Adventure, where Disney has indicated that the virtual queue may be suspended for a few days (and in fact we saw it suspended there earlier). But, they have warned that the virtual queue can be used for the Spider-Man journey as needed.
During this “test” of the virtual queue suspension at Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland, virtual queue distributions twice a day at 7 am and noon will be paused. But again, Disney can use the virtual queue on certain days or times.
If you plan to visit Disneyland, be sure to check out the Disneyland app before 7 a.m. and throughout the day to see if the trip uses a virtual queue or a queue.
Once again, Disney has warned that the virtual queue for Rise could be activated on certain days or at certain times. If the virtual queue is activated, there will be a BIG change in the way you register. If enabled, you will need to sign up for the virtual queue from INSIDE Disneyland (You will not be able to register from any other location). This is very important to keep in mind.
Once Genie + debuts at Disneyland, Rise of the Resistance will be one of the attractions available through the selection of individual attractions (paid per trip). This means that guests will have the option to pay to use Lightning Lane on this trip and skip the waiting line (or virtual queue, if there is a virtual queue). The waiting line or virtual queue (if in use) will still be available for those who do not want to pay to use Lightning Lane.
The release date for Genie + at Disneyland has not yet been announced. We will be watching for more updates.
