Disney World is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary.
We’ve seen 50th anniversary merchandise, snacks and more. But Magic Kingdom isn’t the only one that opened in 1971. Disney’s Contemporary Resort also opened that day and recently, The cast members celebrated their 50th anniversary in a way that turned 25 years old!
25 years ago, members of the cast of Disney’s Contemporary Resort did something unique: they buried a time capsule in the complex! The cast members put a number of things in place to celebrate the Resort’s dedication anniversary.
The time capsule was buried on the ground in front of the flagpoles of the Contemporary flag with a plaque that read: “It will open at 50th Anniversary, 10/25/2021. ‘Remember the magic. ‘”
Well, on October 25, 2021 it already took place and … the time capsule opened! Some special cast members were selected to be the first to see what was inside the time capsule. Some of them celebrate their 50 years of service during the 50th anniversary of Disney World, how exciting!
What was inside? Well, there was a limited edition 15th anniversary commemorative coin for Disney’s Contemporary Resort, name tags …
… An employee diary that includes Cake Castle …
… And more!
