NEW details about the Star Wars hotel, updated vaccine requirements for Disney Cruise Line and MORE news you missed

Hello, readers of AllEars! It’s been another fun week covering Disney news.

Galactic Starcruiser

We have a lot of new details about the Star Wars hotel, also known Galactic Starcruiser, this week. We learned what it will be like to enter the hotel (and it sounds great). And we learned that people who feel claustrophobic during their two-night trip to space can sneak in a themed outdoor time if they need to. Also, we took a first look at some very interesting galactic merchandise.

Some fans may be disappointed to learn that the lightsabers used by performers (the great ones that look real) and the lightsabers used during the lightsaber training experience. It will NOT be on sale to guests. We also learned a little more about the rooms, and for those who are worried about the bunk beds in the cabins, we learned that they will easily adapt to adults and are not as small as they look in the photos.

We also took another look at the food that guests will be able to eat on board. Everything is very exciting from what we have seen so far.

Life Day celebrations

Old school Star Wars Fans may be surprised to learn that something from 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special has remained and has become official this year. We before Life Day celebrations at Disneyland, with special snacks.

Disneyland’s Toontown will be reimagined

Disneyland will close Mickey’s Toontown in March 2022 to completely reimagine the land with new attractions, activities and entertainment. The new ground will open its doors in early 2023 and will feature more space for “spontaneous family play and parental relaxation.”

Part of this area is already under construction to make way for the Disneyland version Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railroad. There will also be a park with a fountain for children to play with and a stage inspired by Walt Disney’s youth in his hometown.

Disney Cruise Line updates vaccination requirements for children

Now that the CDC has authorized the COVID-19 vaccine for children five years of age or older, Disney Cruise Line has updated its vaccination requirements for guests. Previously, Disney Cruise Line required all guests 12 years of age or older to show a vaccination test before boarding a boat. Guests aged 11 and under had to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test done between 24 hours and 3 days before boarding.

How to January 13, 2022, all guests aged 5 and over must show proof of vaccination before embarking on a Disney cruise. Also from this date, guests aged 4 and under will be required to submit a negative test.

Destination D23

Destination D23 is officially underway at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Disney World. And we’re there, covering it all live. You can follow many of the events via D23’s official live stream.

Plus, we learned that Bob Chapek, CEO of Walt Disney will not be able to do the event; he commented that he planned to go there, but that his work schedule would not allow him to make time there.
