Disney World may have been busy with guests last week for the holidays, but that hasn’t stopped Disney from moving forward on some of its next major attractions!
We have been following up TWO long-awaited roller coasters arrives at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT and this week we noticed great progress in both locations. So what are you waiting for? Let’s take a look!
TRON: Lightcycle Run
The last time we checked the construction at TRON: Lightcycle Run at Tomorrowland, we didn’t notice much change on the outside of the trip. And, if you look from afar still today, you may not see any difference with all the construction equipment, dirt, and orange fences that are still in the area.
But as you get a little closer, you’ll be able to start distinguishing some of the details that come together. For example, on the left side of the image below, you can see the catwalk that guests will take to enter the attraction taking shape.
Here’s a look at this catwalk in conceptual art!
Disney has yet to communicate when we could get on a light cycle for the first time, but it’s exciting to see that more progress is being made!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
At EPCOT, we also saw great progress Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! The last time we took a look behind the walls of the building from the highway to the sky (also known as the monorail), we could see that the pavement had been installed along with a new landscape farther from the attraction and near the next PLAY! Pavilion (also known as the large golden dome in the background).
Well, this week Disney pulled back the building walls revealing this area to the guests! Now there is much more space to walk as you enter (or leave) the park …
… and you can even see it more closely PLAY! Pavilion building!
The building walls are still around the main entrance to the attraction and close to the large dome building, but we’ll just have to wait until the summer of 2022 to check it all out!

Disney’s animal kingdom
Kali River Rapids
A Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids has been closed since November 1, 2021 for reform, and this week we took a look at some of the walls of the building surrounding the attraction.
For now, you can’t see much of what’s going on behind the scenes here, but the water walk known for soaking your guests is will open in mid-December 2021 (although the reform schedule currently indicates that it is closed until December 30).

And that’s it for one more week of construction progress! We’ll keep an eye out for more news around parks and resorts, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest news!
