Stand aside, Thanksgiving. Christmas is coming!

We just finished a giant party, but you know we’re looking forward to the next one. To help you get ready for a great Christmas meal and at the same time give Disney a little spin. We have a bunch of Disney recipes that work together to create the best Christmas party.

Let’s start with some bread for the snack. Since the holidays are a time for family and friends, what better place to be inspired than that ‘Ohana?


And help this restaurant (located at Disney’s Polynesian Resort) have one of the best bread in town.

Pineapple and coconut breakfast bread from ‘Ohana

Performance 1 – 9 “x 13” Cake Mold


1 3/4 C. Water
1 egg yolk
2 T. Shortening
4 1/2 C. High gluten flour

1/3 C sugar
1 T. Instant Yeast

1 C. Crushed pineapple
1 C. Sugar-free coconut
1 C. Sugar
2 T. Maizena

Pineapple / coconut method

  1. Combine pineapple and coconut in a bowl.
  2. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a separate bowl and mix well.
  3. Add the sugar and cornstarch mixture to the pineapple and coconut mixture and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Pa method

  1. Combine all ingredients in order of the recipe in the mixing bowl and mix with the dough hook until the dough sticks to the hook and the sides of the mixing bowl are clean.
  2. Let the dough shine until it doubles in volume.
  3. Spread the dough on a floured surface until it is 2 inches thick.
  4. Then spread the pineapple / coconut mixture over the dough.
  5. Fold the dough over itself, capturing the pineapple and coconut mixture inside.
  6. Cut the dough into chunks with a pizza cutter and spread the chopped pieces evenly into a greased 9 “x 13” pan.
  7. Let the dough rise in the hot oven (110 degrees F), about halfway through the pan.
  8. Bake in the oven at 325 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
  9. Let the bread cool, cut it up and serve.

Hollywood and Vine

So let’s go to Hollywood and Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a little twist on traditional food.


5 pounds. turkey thigh meat, raw
1 cup diced onion
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup carrots, diced
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 to 2 gallons of brown sauce (demi sauce)
1 qt. Burgundy wine
2 cups potato wedges (toasted)
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup flour
Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat the oil in the pan.
  2. Add the turkey meat and cook until golden.
  3. Add the onion, celery, carrots, continue cooking.
  4. Add the flour and tomato paste, mix well.
  5. Add the wine and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the brown sauce, bring back to the boil.

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup celery, chopped
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon seasoning for poultry
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cup turkey broth (chicken can be substituted)



  1. In a preheated oven at 400 °, toast the bread cubes for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden.
  2. In a large skillet over medium / low heat, cook garlic, onion and celery for 3 minutes or until soft.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and add the bread cubes, herbs, salt, pepper and chicken stock.
  4. Stir well and adjust the seasoning as desired.
  5. Additional broth may be needed to achieve the desired consistency.

We borrowed a recipe from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for this, because Jiko‘s mac & cheese is absolutely to die for.

Macaroni and Jiko cheese


Mornay sauce
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 quart of whole milk
1 1/4 cups Quattro Fromage (mix of 4 cheeses from asiago, provolone, fontina and gruyere)

2 pound elbow macaroni

  1. Prepare the macaroni according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Make a roux with the flour and butter over low heat. Bring the milk to a simmer and work on the roux.
  3. Add cheese and salt to taste. Pour in the macaroni and heat in a moderate oven.

Okay, we know that The wave … of American flavors it is no longer a thing. This restaurant, located within Disney’s Contemporary Resort, was recently replaced by Grill 71.

The Wave

While we LOVE the food at the new Steakhouse 71, we throw it away to get it Southern sweet potato puree Wave recipe.

2 cups diced sweet potato
2 tablespoons whole butter
4 tablespoons thick cream
2 teaspoons brown sugar
pinch of salt
a little black pepper
3 tablespoons Jim Beam Bourbon


  1. Steam the sweet potatoes until well cooked.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, place the butter, sugar, cream and cook the bourbon in a small saucepan and heat.
  3. When the potatoes are done, put them in the oven for about 5 minutes to remove some of the moisture.

  6. Season again with more salt, pepper or Jim Beam as you see fit.

Since our parents will be at Christmas dinner, we should probably put some vegetables on the table to make them happy.

Green beans from ‘Ohana

Yield: 6 servings


2 pounds of fresh green beans
1 medium red onion, sliced ​​½ inch thick

3 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
