Guests can now virtually pre-register for Disneyland Disability Access

Many changes are being made to Disneyland Resort.

Hello, Disneyland!

MagicBands will arrive at the resort in 2022, the return of several Disneyland After Dark events for next year has been announced, and Disney Genie + will be available starting December 8, 2021. Now, we also have an update on the Disneyland Disability Access Service.

According to Disney’s own website, Disability Access Service (“DAS”) is a program offered at Disneyland Resort to “help guests who have difficulty enduring long waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability.” With the DAS service, guests can request a one-hour return for a specific attraction. The return time they will receive is comparable to the standby time.

Afterwards, the guest can experience other things at the park and then enter the Lightning Lane of the attraction once the return time begins. Soon there will be some changes to Disneyland’s DAS program that guests should be aware of.

First, guests plan to visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks starting December 20, 2021, now they can pre-register for DAS Advance virtually with a Cast Member. To do this, guests can use live video chat. We shared the news about this change for the first time in August, but we wanted to share an update as pre-registration is now available.

Guests can pre-register with DAS Advance as soon as possible 30 days before your visit to the park, but not less than 2 days before arrival. During the video chat, guests will be able to work with a cast member to reserve some return windows for selected experiences using the DAS advance planning option.

Note that the guest requesting the DAS must be present during check-in (either in person or by live video call). They should also be present when exchanging DAS selections at the park.

During their visit, guests who are registered in the DAS program will be able to obtain these return times from Cast Members to Guest Relations. For guests who pre-register and use DAS Advance, these return times will be in addition to DAS Advance selections.

DAS Advance is a new and improved feature for the DAS program. Allow guests select and book up to 2 DAS advance selections for each day of your trip. This is done during the DAS Advance video call. Return times will be available for a period of 1 hour during the park visit. Again, please note that DAS Advance selections will be available for park visits from or after December 20, 2021. Only guests who pre-register for DAS can obtain DAS Advance selections.

And there are more DAS changes along the way. The Disneyland website notes that the The DAS self-selection tool for the same day return time will be available soon. This tool will allow guests enrolled in the DAS program to select the return time from the Disneyland app during their visit, rather than visiting a cast member for a return time.

This technology will also allow guests using DAS to change or cancel their return times.

If you are visiting Disneyland early and plan to use the DAS program, please note these changes. You can also click here to see how the pre-registered Disney World DAS program works. We will be waiting for more updates.
