PHOTOS AND VIDEO: Two monorail lines are currently at Disney World

When you visit Disney World, it’s not uncommon to see attractions temporarily closed due to “technical difficulties.”

PeopleMover closed during its refurbishment.

Usually, when this happens, the attractions don’t go down too much before going back up, and that’s not a big deal. However, the biggest problem comes when the problems affect Disney World transportation!

When we left Magic Kingdom today, we realized that the monorail was closed! Neither the resort line nor the express line ran from Magic Kingdom to the Transportation & Ticket Center.

The monorail is closed1

At the time, the only transportation option back to the parking lot was the ferry. We came across a rather long queue at noon!

It is occupied by the ferry.

The EPCOT monorail line still works from the TTC, but if you are staying in a monorail complex, it might be a bit difficult to get there right now. Keep this in mind when planning your transportation time.

The EPCOT line is still running, but neither is heading to Magic Kingdom.

Just remember to be patient when dealing with situations like this at Disney World. Cast members are working hard to get it back up and running.

A very similar issue happened a few months ago in October. Today’s breakdown adds to a day when many guests were already experiencing technology issues with the Disney World and MagicBands app.
