New Year’s Eve will be here before we know it, and I’m sure this year will look a little different at Disney World!
Last year, the parks closed earlier than usual, but this year they are open again until late. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are open until 12 AM i Magical Kingdom is open until 1AM. There are also some celebrations in Disney Springs at places like The Edison and Raglan Road Irish Pub. I, The first official party for a Disney World hotel has just been announced!
Disney’s Contemporary Hotel is hosting a special event called A golden New Year’s Eve in the Wine Country at California Grill! The restaurant’s Napa Room will be transformed into an eclectic one speakeasy and will have a light-handed magician act while you drink wine and cocktails made to measure.
In the Sonoma Room, you can see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Baby Any New Donald! There will also be one DJ and a traveling violinist playing at the event. Between the 2 rooms you will find 50th anniversary food stations which will feature a meal that pays homage to the legacy of California Grill chefs. Take a trip down memory lane with some of the favorite offerings from the last 50 years. Here’s a look at some of them menu highlights:
- Refrigerated snack station
- Refrigerated seafood bar
- Caviar Station with Potato Blinis
- Smoked beef tartare
- Golden beet salad and cold caramel cane
- Wood burning station
- Perigord Black Winter Pizza
- Duck Char Sui Bao
- Sushi station
- A variety of maki, sashimi, nigiri and a collection of original sushi creations
- Hot seafood station
- Lobster ravioli
- Grilled Jumbo Scallops
- Chopped tuna from Ahi
- Grill and rotisserie
- Grilled pork
- Beef fillet over oak fire with truffle sauce
- Rohan duck breast 2 ways
- Sweets from our pastry chefs at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- 5 magic bites: 50 years doing
- Banana Butterscotch Buzz
- Melted lava cake from Valrhona
- Florida Citrus Cream
And, there will be an ice sculpture! It will feature the 50th anniversary and California Grill logos. Then, at midnight, you can start the new year by watching the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom from the restaurant!
The event takes place on December 31, 2021. Check-in starts at 7 p.m. and the event goes from 7:30 to 12:30 p.m.. To make a reservation, you can call (407) 824-2013. The cost of the event is $ 700, including taxes and tip, with full payment to be paid at the time of booking. Cancellations must be received at least one day prior to the event to avoid being charged the full price.
