Many have changed in terms of Disney World’s “free” benefits for guests over the past year, and there will be more changes soon!
In 2021, we saw that Disney suspended its free MagicBand program for both Disney World hotel guests and annual pass holders, replacing the extra magic hours with early entry to the theme park for everyone. guests and extended night hours for selected guests and more. I, now another free benefit will end in a few weeks.
Earlier this year, Disney made the BIG announcement that Disney’s Magical Express would stop on January 1, 2022 and that date is fast approaching! Tan, Guests will no longer have a free option to travel between their Disney World Resort hotel and Orlando International Airport. (MCO).
As a quick refreshment, Disney’s Magical Express was introduced in 2005 as a free transportation system for guests traveling to Disney World. He took care of air travel, giving guests the opportunity to enter their flight information before the trip, leaving their bags at the airport in their hometown, and boarding a bus to Orlando that took them directly. at your hotel. Also, they didn’t have to worry about picking up the bags at MCO, as Disney would deliver them directly to the room.
Disney’s Magical Express service has changed quite a bit over the last year and a half (with luggage transportation, check-in at the hotel and sending confirmation documentation before the trip not available during 2020 and 2021. But from January 1, 2022, the entire transportation service will disappear.
However, guests will have to find their own transportation between MCO and Disney World, i it probably won’t be free.
If you are looking for a service that is similar to the one offered by Disney, Mears (which is the company that operated Disney’s Magical Express) will introduce a new shuttle service called Mears Connect on January 1, 2022.
The shuttle will work in a very similar way to Disney’s Magical Express, but there will be a cost associated with its use. Those Prices will vary depending on when you travel, which Disney World Resort you stay at, how many people are in your group, and what level of service you choose (Standard or Express).
Therefore, the trip between the airport and your Disney World hotel can they cost just $ 16 for a one-way adult or up to $ 200 for a family of four using express service.

Guests may also choose to use a shared travel service such as Uber or Lyft. Unlike Mears Connect, you don’t have to share a trip with guests who are out of your party and you can be taken directly to your resort. However, you will not be able to plan ahead and secure prices in advance.
Depending on when you travel (and the service you book), using a service like Uber it could end up costing you just $ 61 for all your one-way party, though with rising prices, it could end up being much more.

Other transportation options include to rent a car (Although you may want to keep in mind that Disney World resorts and theme parks charge for parking), book a private car service (we recommend using Happy Limousine), or using Disney’s Minnie Van service (when in operation).
In addition, the private company Brightline has also announced plans to build one high speed train route all the way from South Florida to Orlando International Airport and to Tampa with a stop at Disney World.
However, a recent ruling by the Central Florida Highway Authority has indefinitely postponed a decision on the route, so it may not be completed and operational until after 2026.
