NEWS: Disney World County listed as COVID-19 access point to White House report

Disney World has continued to update its health and safety guidelines as the global pandemic continues.


There have been many new updates to COVID-19 lately with the introduction of the Omicorn variant in Florida, and Orange County, Florida (where Disney World is located) was recently named a rapid rise by the White House. Now, there’s a new coronavirus update in Disney World’s Orange County.

This week, Orange County, Florida was called a COVID-19 hotspot in the White House Covid-19 community profile report, according to Orlando Sentinel.

Animal Kingdom Health and Safety Policy

A hotspot is defined as a community that has, “reached a threshold of disease activity considered high load.” Orange County is the only county in the Orlando metropolitan area that has been named a hotspot.

The Florida Department of Health has reported 13,530 new cases of coronavirus, increasing compared to last week 10, 892. Orange County has also been considered a fast-rising county, and is one of four in the state.

The head of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County said there was one “factor group” which contributed to the increase in cases, and cited the Electric Daisy Carnival as one of the sources of this peak.
