Disney World is getting rid of its biggest free profit to date in 2022

2021 has been a GREAT year at Disney World, with many important changes.

Magical Kingdom

In addition to changing Disney World’s annual season tickets, Disney has also discontinued or modified many previously “free” benefits, such as Free MagicBands for Disney World Resort hotel guests i Holders of annual season tickets, as well as replacing the extra magic hours with the shorter ones Early entry to the theme park and the most selective Extended afternoon hours. And now maybe one of them Disney World’s biggest free benefits will be gone in a few weeks, and here’s what you need to know.

Disney’s Magical Express

In early 2021, Disney announced its plans suspend Magical Express shuttle service, a free transportation option for guests of the Disney World Resort hotel to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO). This service made it very easy to travel to Disney World, as guests (after checking in before the trip) would leave their luggage at the airport of departure and Magical Express would not only transport them to their hotel, but also take their luggage from the baggage reclaim they would deliver them to their room.

Magic express

Magical Express debuted in 2005 and has been a great benefit to Disney World hotel guests to avoid worrying about OR paying for airport transportation. Although Disney has changed the way Magical Express has been in operation for the past few years, many guests continued to use this free service.

Get ready to say goodbye to these signs!

How to January 1, 2022, the Magical Express will be officially discontinued and will no longer be an option for guests of the Disney World Hotel. So what’s up? Guests will have to look for other transportation options at the airport and they will probably not be free.

Other transportation options

Shared travel

Whether you choose to use services such as Uber, Lyft, a taxi, a private car or a shuttle, shared travel is an option to consider for airport transportation. When we look at prices in the past, for example, an Uber trip at that time would cost $ 51.77 for your trip from Orlando Airport to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Car-sharing points aren’t always signposted, but look for signs.

Using shared car services can help you avoid paying for Disney World parking, which can increase rapidly if your hotel also charges for parking.

Car rental

Car rental is of course another option, but keep in mind that you may end up paying for the car, gas, theme park, and hotel parking. In the past, we’ve seen one Alamo car rental for up to four people with a price of $ 365.75 for a 7-day visit to Disney World. Combine that with the $ 25 theme park parking lot and the hotel parking lot, and you’re looking at some fast-accumulating costs.

You can rent a car

However, if you prefer the freedom to travel as you wish, this may be a worthwhile option as long as you include all the extra costs in your budget.

Renting a car could cost more than Disney World tickets; here’s why!

Bright line

While Brightline is not yet an option, it will be in the future High-speed train from Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs! This train line is currently scheduled to be completed sometime in 2023, and there are also stops in Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, as well as other stops.

Right now, it has been said that a one-way trip from Miami to Orlando Airport could cost $ 100. This train could be a quick and convenient option for many guests who do not want to worry about car rental or shared travel!

The train to Disney World could have a dozen different stations!

Thus, after December 31, 2021, Magical Express will officially disappear and you will have to plan for additional costs now that this free service has been discontinued.
