The holiday season is in full swing at Disney World a lot of people visiting parks and resorts!
Crowds began to arrive at the beginning of Thanksgiving week in late November and have continued to grow until Christmas and New Year. We’ve seen crowds affect everything from monorail to Genie + Lightning Lane reservations to Mobile Order return windows. But, Today guests wait more than 2 hours in line to find a place that isn’t even in the park!
When we headed Magical Kingdom around noon today we noticed there were MANY people waiting in line near the entrance. And the line was not to enter the park …was for Guest Services!
Normally, you can expect a bit of a line here, which is why Disney has umbrellas set up in the short winding tail on especially hot days. But today the line stretched far beyond the umbrellas and down the catwalk to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
And, it just went on! A cast member we spoke to said the line did about 2 hours of waiting (!!).
It’s been a long time since we’ve been standing in the sun, so another cast member was walking down the line. distributing bottled water to whomever he wished.
There are a lot of reasons why people should visit Guest Services before going to the park, such as MagicBands that don’t work, Florida residents who have to show proof of residency to use their ticket, Genie + Lightning Lane, past park questions, and more. Also, during the busiest times, there may be many more guests who need help than cast members to help.
If you’re having trouble getting tickets, but still have questions or need help, we suggest you go to the park and find a location for the guest experience; these usually have a tail, but the waiting time will usually be shorter.
Well, this is a line you probably didn’t expect to see at Disney World today! Of course, we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest Disney events, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars!
