PHOTOS: Boatwright Dining Room has officially reopened at Disney World!

Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort was one of the last hotels to reopen to guests in October. But not everything was available immediately.
Although the general store, lounge, and Quick Service restaurant welcomed guests on reopening day, there was one restaurant that was still closed: Boatwright Dining Room. But the wait is over! The restaurant again serves its characteristic “southern specialties” and we take you with us to check it out!
Atmosphere
Tonight is the restaurant’s reopening night and the party has started at 5pm!

Inside, you’ll find boat-inspired décor, such as boat hulls hanging from the ceiling and boat tools hanging from the walls. Sure, it’s a unique look, but we appreciate the relaxed atmosphere.

We arrived early (our booking was not until later), but the cast member at the front desk let us know that they were accepting visits for parties of 6 or less. We were able to sit down right away!

If you do not have a reservation and availability, you can see this sign at the check-in desk. Leave your phone number and you will receive a text message when your table is ready.

Our table was already set with bread plates and cutlery, as well as napkins. We have a QR code to access the menu and a paper menu with drink options.

Now, who’s ready to dig ?!

Menu
Right now, Boatwright’s Dining Hall is only open for dinner, and the menu looks a little different (and more expensive) than you might remember.

First, on the snack menu, the Crayfish bisque, cheese sauce and Andouille sausage and fried green tomatoes have been removed. and now you can find two new dishes: the Boudin Balls and Amelia’s Salad (which is a herbal option and is similar to the salad on the entree menu).

The entrance menu also includes some changes! For example, the Turbodog barbecue ribs have been removed and the Nashville hot chicken it does not appear as served in a southern honey cookie. Also, if you place the order The big easy, Now it will come with raw rice, seasonal vegetables, pickled onions and white butter in brown butter instead of mac and crayfish cheese and blackberry port demi.

And, for sides, now you will only find three options (since red beans and rice, macaroni and crayfish cheese and crab cakes in pieces have been removed).

Are you thinking about dessert? They have that too! Disney has removed the traditional bread and lemon chess bar dishes but now you will find one Banana cream bread pudding i Sorbet.

If you have dinner with children, you can choose from a variety of snacks, starters and accompaniments …

… and you can make your children’s (or your) food a little more exciting with it EARidescent Sip-a-bration which Disney has added in honor of the 50th anniversary.

Also, if you prefer something more drinky, there is also a selection of special cocktails and dessert cocktails (although the menu is much more limited than it was before).

For our meal, we decided to start with the new one Boudin balls as an aperitif. These are one mix of Andouille sausage, smoked sausage and breaded and fried raw rice served with Remoulade, Creole Mustard and Pickled Vegetables $ 13.

And we couldn’t resist Mardi Gras donuts neither! Costen $ 12 and are served with homemade Pimiento cheese fritters with pepper jelly.

Don’t they look so good? Wow, x 3.

Then we finished our meal with the new one Banana cream bread pudding which is in Homemade bread pudding with Fresh bananas, vanilla custard, caramel sauce, raisins soaked in bourbon i Vanilla ice cream. Costa $ 7
