It’s another exciting week for construction projects at Disney World!
We’re taking a look at the many ongoing projects at Disney World right now, including a look behind the building walls that currently take up about half of EPCOT to see how much longer it can take before we see any open new thing. at the park. So, here we go!
We started our construction journey from the highway to the sky (also known as the monorail) in front of Magic Kingdom where we saw some painting that takes place on the outer walls of Magic Kingdom near the Walt Disney World Railroad and Tomorrowland train tracks.
It looked like the walls were sticking together and they were waiting for a new coat of paint.
And, the EPCOT is over that we are going to see from a bird’s eye view all the construction that is done in the center of what is today known as World Celebration (or the ancient world of the future). We were able to see the work being done on the new attraction. Moana: Water journey, they will be located and it looks like they are moving forward! We could see what’s new the walls went up in a slightly circular shape …
… and there are many trenches around it. Once completed, guests will enter to explore what Disney has described as “lush exploration route” which allows them “play with magic and living water” through immersive attraction. However, Disney has not shared any updates on when it could open.
The rest of the construction area in the center of the park is most dirt still with a lot of equipment and materials spread out. So it will probably be a while before you can experience any of the new attractions that are coming here.
From the ground, we further checked the progress of construction at World Celebration, going on to see the progress of the old Mouse Gear house. This place I could will be the location of the new Quick Service restaurant that will arrive at the pavilion, Connections Cafe and Eatery, but Disney has not yet shared specific details.
So the EPCOT center looks very different right now, and it is it will only be even more different while construction continues!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Right in front of the work being done on Mouse Gear, progress is also being made on the new inland roller coaster. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. We’ve been seeing a lot of changes being made to the exterior of the building and when we passed recently we realized that the The side of the building closest to the walkway was almost freshly painted.
He the orange pillars will eventually be painted a darker color too and you can check out what it will be like if you take a look at the other side of the building!
Disney has announced that the new attraction will open in the summer of 2022, so we’ll probably see even more progress here in the near future!
