ABC will host ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2022 ‘on December 31st


ABC will be playing the new year with “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022” starting at 8:00 PM EST / PST on December 31st.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the annual countdown and features performances from Times Square, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.


The Times Square Center will be hosted by 17-time host and executive producer Ryan Seacrest with first-time co-presenter Liza Koshy. Actions will include:

  • LL COOL J will offer an interpretation of his iconic hits
  • Journey will also perform some of his many hits
  • The Latin phenomenon KAROL G performing a potpourri of hits
  • Pop / R&B superstar Chlöe performing her single “Have Mercy”

Actor and singer Billy Porter will co-present New Orleans and will also perform two songs.


Actress Roselyn Sanchez is co-host of Puerto Rico, and there will be a performance by reggaeton dynamo Daddy Yankee in her hometown.


Finally, five-time NYRE co-presenter Ciara will be in Los Angeles with DJ D-Nice, with performances by:

  • AJR and the duo Daisy The Great (“BANG!” “Turntable”)
  • Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker (“Sk8ter Boi”, “Bite Me”)
  • Big Boi with singer Sleepy Brown (“The Way You Move”, “Animalz”)
  • Don Omar (“Dance Dance”) with Nio Garcia (“Es Menea”)
  • French Montana (“FWMGAB”, “Unforgettable”)
  • Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (“Can’t Hold Us”) with singer Windser (“Next Year”)
  • Moonlight (“Beggin”, “Mamma Mia”)
  • Mae Muller with Polo G (“Better Days”); Polo G (“Rapstar”, “Smooth Criminal”)
  • Masked Wolf (“Ocean Astronauts”, “Pandemonium”)
  • OneRepublic (“Counting Stars”, “Running”)
  • Walker Hayes (“Fancy Like”, “AA”)

Also for the first year, the show will feature the first countdown in Spanish of Rockin ‘Eve.


ABC says it continues with Rockin ‘Eve 2022 while adhering to CDC / local protocols regarding audience attendance in Times Square. Last year, the special continued with the assistance of small groups of lifeguards.
