20 Things You Need to Know About “Boba Fett’s Book” Before It Releases December 29 at Disney +

Star Wars fans are looking forward to the Disney + “Boba Fett Book” series, which debuts on December 29, 2021.

But if all you know about Boba Fett is that he went on “The Empire Strikes Back,” I’ve made a list of things to know about the character and the show.

Here are 20 things you should know before watching Boba Fett’s book:

Boba Fett's book at Disney +

1]We are first introduced to the character of bounty hunter Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back”, where he captures Han Solo in the cloud city of Bespin.

2]Boba Fett was designed by Star Wars creator George Lucas, art director Joe Johnston and legendary illustrator Ralph McQuarrie. It was loosely based on Clint Eastwood’s character from Man With No Name in Sergio Leone’s westerns.

3]We then meet him in “The Return of the Jedi”, while handing Han over to the crime lord Jabba the Hutt, in order to collect the reward that Jabba has placed on Han.

4]He is supposed to die in the Sarlacc pit at Tatooine, as Jabba’s plan to kill Han, Chewie and Luke does not go as planned.

5]Next, we meet Boba in the Star Wars prequel “Attack of the Clones” as the son of the famous bounty hunter Jango Fett. This is where we learn that Boba is actually a genetic clone of Jango.

6]A younger version of Boba Fett also appears in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, but the character last appeared in a scene at the end of the second season of the Disney + series “The Mandalorian “com” The Book of “. The Boba Fett series was announced.

7]In “Boba Fett’s Book” the main character is played by actor Temuera Morrison, who also played Jango Fett in “Attack of the Clones”.

8]Since “Boba Fett’s Book” takes place after “The Return of the Jedi”, many wonder how Boba survived the Sarlacc, especially because, as C-3PO explained, he slowly digested his victims for a thousand years. . The answer was explained in part in a trailer for the show, which shows Boba Fett healing himself in a tank. Here is the trailer:

9]”The Book of Boba Fett” finds Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) returning to the sands of Tatooine to reclaim the territory previously ruled by Jabba and his crime syndicate.

10]Boba Fett has the support of Fennec Shand, an elite mercenary and assassin played by actress Ming-Na Wen. She was introduced to “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger” by “The Mandalorian”, and is later saved by Boba Fett, who has to replace parts of her body with cybernetics.

11]We learn more about Fennec in the Disney + animated series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” where a younger Fennec appears as a bounty hunter, but you don’t have to watch this series to find out who she is in “The Book of Bad Batch.” Boba Fett. “

12]If you missed the final scene of season 2 of “The Mandalorian”, the couple entered Jabba’s mostly abandoned palace, quickly sent Chief Twi’lek and Jabba’s successor, Bib Fortuna, and they sat on the throne.

13]Twi’leks are a humanoid species characterized by prehensile appendages sprouting from the crown or base of their skulls, known as lekku. They come from the planet Ryloth, but are found throughout the Star Wars universe.

14]The twi’leks are also in “Boba Fett’s Book,” and if you look closely at the trailers, you may have seen actress Jennifer Beals (pictured below) playing one. Nothing else is known about the character, but it is safe to say that he is probably an important character.

15]The season will have seven episodes and will be followed by Boba Fett and Fennec Shand building an empire of their own crime in the void Jabba left behind. But where Jabba ruled with fear, Boba says he will rule with respect … a respect backed by a good dose of fear, I imagine.

16]”The Book of Boba Fett” is supported by much of the same creative team that made “The Mandalorian”. It is being produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and director Robert Rodriguez.

17]In addition to producing the show, Rodriguez directs three episodes, as well as giving voice to two characters, including The Mayor, whose voice-over is heard on the trailers.

18]In a recent interview, Filoni mocked: “Boba has given us a direct connection to the Star Wars saga since he was involved in this story. This creates a good crossroads for both classic and new characters. Much of “The Mandalorian” was new or unseen on screen. Through Boba Fett, we can weave some of these characters and stories together using a character we know but don’t know much about. ” Therefore, there may be more amazing familiar characters appearing in this series.

19]Although “Boba Fett’s Book” currently has no planned future seasons, it is worth noting that the show takes place in the same time period as “The Mandalorian”, which has a season close to the works, and “Ahsoka,” a new Disney + series starring Rosario Dawson. This leaves open the possibility of crossing stories.

20]All the clips shown in the series so far are only from the first half of the first episode. Rodriguez said in an interview: “We can’t use the second half of the first episode because it gives a lot.”

Here’s a trailer for “Boba Fett’s Book”:

Disney + has also recently released a new feature for “Boba Fett’s Book,” starring Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen along with filmmakers Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez talking about the series:

I’m more than excited to see this series and see where the new canon of the character takes me. When Disney bought LucasFilm, it decreed that only what had happened in the film so far was considered canon. So everything that happened to Boba Fett in the old Star Wars universe no longer exists and the character is a relatively cool canvas to tell stories.
