Disney World Resort hotels can be very comfortable (and beautiful!) To stay in while visiting Disney World.
If you’re feeling pressured into staying at a Disney World hotel, you shouldn’t, and in fact you should. there may be some reasons why you should not!
Let’s review five different reasons I should not stay at a Disney World hotel in 2022.
You want more benefits
In the past, qualified Disney World hotel guests could enter a Disney park one or even two hours before the opening with Morning Extra Magic Hours. This service has now been discontinued and replaced by Early entry to the theme park, which allows guests to enter in just 30 minutes.
The magic overtime in the evening was also something that allowed hotel guests to stay for an hour or two after closing. This has been replaced by Extended afternoon hours, which is now only limited to luxury guests at the Disney Hotel. It also takes place only at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom on designated evenings.
MagicBands are no longer free for guests of the Disney World Hotel. From time to time, you can get one at a discount, but they are no longer free, which can be a shame.
If you were expecting MORE benefits, you wouldn’t find them at Disney hotels right now.
You have always used Magical Express
In case you miss it, Disney’s Magical Express will be discontinued from January 1, 2022. And without this previously free service, you will have to pay for transportation from the airport, whether you choose to use the service Mears Connect replacement as if you were renting a car. , or take a taxi.
Without Magical Express, your hotel options may be a little more open-minded, given that you’ll have to pay for airport transportation independently. If this was a big plus for you, it might be worth visiting other hotels!
Don’t use Disney transportation
If you don’t need Disney transportation, you don’t really need to stay in a Disney hotel. Free transportation is one of the biggest benefits of staying at a Disney World hotel, but if you tend to drive yourself or trust Uber, staying at a Disney hotel isn’t necessary at all.
You may prefer the flexibility of driving yourself or avoiding parking expenses when traveling, so there may be other better hotel options for you.
You want free breakfast
Free breakfast isn’t really … at Disney hotels. However, you can find it in many other Orlando hotels.
If you don’t want to add breakfast pay to your growing Disney World budget, skip the Disney hotels and go with a hotel that offers free breakfast.
You have a strict budget
Even with well-priced resorts, you probably pay more than you would pay for the same (if not more) amenities in a non-Disney hotel. While value-added resorts like Pop Century and Art of Animation also have advantages like the Skyliner, they are basically large motels with outdoor tickets.
And while many value-added motels offer free breakfast, none of Disney World’s value-added resorts offer free meals. If your budget is tight, it’s worth taking a look at other Orlando hotels.
