Last month, Disney Cruise Line updated its vaccination mandate for all passengers from the age of 5. From 13 January 2022, all guests aged 5 and over must be vaccinated before embarking on a Disney cruise.
Before this vaccine term comes into effect, Disney Cruise Line along with several other major cruise companies are under investigation by the Centers for Disease Control.
Business Insider reports that the CDC is currently investigating 38 ships and observing an additional 48 cruise ships related to recent outbreaks of COVID-19, including the entire Disney Cruise Line fleet.
According to the CDC website, there are four levels below which a boat can fall: green, orange, yellow, or red. These levels are determined by data from the previous seven days (regardless of travel dates), as well as the results of CDC research.
At the time of writing, all four Disney Cruise Line vessels are below the “yellow” level, indicating that the number of reported COVID-19 cases has reached the required threshold for an investigation to be conducted. CDC. Disney’s dream, magic, and wonder are currently under investigation, while Disney fantasy has been investigated, but is still under observation.
Disney Cruise Line currently operates under the “Restricted Travel” category. For Disney to meet the yellow level, there were cases reported in 0.10% or more of passengers. For example, if there were 6,500 passengers on board, there would have to be 7 or more cases between passengers in the previous seven days to reach the CDC investigation threshold. Yellow level criteria may also be met if one or more cases of COVID are reported among the crew.
