Disney just won an award for … Trash Can?


The Walt Disney Company has strived to be a leader in green business decisions. From solar panels to vacuuming disposable plastic, this great company is taking small steps to minimize its carbon footprint and set a good example.

Now, Disney is looking not only to reduce the waste generated in parks, but also to try to find environmentally friendly ways to dispose of and recycle waste responsibly.

Disneyland posted on its Instagram @disneylandcastandcommunity an image of its new bin, with a specific container for food waste that will be recycled into organic farm nutrients.

These new rubbish bins won the SEAL 2021 Business Sustainability Award. SEAL stands for Honoring Ssustainability, Eenvironmental Acheively i Lleadership. Disneyland Resort was one of 38 organizations recognized for its environmental efforts, along with other leading companies such as PepsiCo, Atlas Renewable Energy, and Samsung for its leadership, innovation, and commitment to sustainable business practices.

This new ambition to strive for zero waste and recycle and compost as much waste as possible will help ensure a great, great, beautiful tomorrow for everyone. So it seems appropriate that these new rubbish bins be tested at Tomorrowland!
