NEWS: CDC now advises travelers to avoid cruises regardless of vaccination status

With the number of COVID-19 cases at an all-time high in some places and the Omicron variant on the rise, we’ve seen some new recommendations for travel and vacation plans. Some cities in the United States have even canceled New Year’s Eve celebrations. Now, the CDC advises against cruising.
According to CNBC, the CDC advised today that travelers should avoid taking a cruise vacation, regardless of vaccination status. The agency is currently observing dozens of different cruise ships that have had COVID-19 outbreaks.

In the last two weeks, cruise ships operating in U.S. waters have had about 5,000 cases of COVID. In the first two weeks of December, that number was only 162. The CDC said in a statement: including river cruises., worldwide, regardless of vaccination status. “
