All Disney World hotels and attractions that close in January


If you are celebrating the New Year by heading to Disney World in January, you may want to know what will close in parks and hotels.

Mountain Splash

There are a few closures, including a couple of MAJOR attractions, next month. Find out which attractions, attractions, transportation and hotels will be closed in January.

We’ll start by looking at the attractions and attractions that have been scheduled for renovations at Disney World.

Magical Kingdom

Magic Kingdom has a couple of great attractions that will be closed for at least part of January.

Mountain Splash

Splash Mountain closes for a scheduled renovation from Jan. 10 to Feb. 10.

This trip usually receives some updates during this time of year. This is not the big reform Disney announced, which will turn the attraction into a The princess and the frog– themed walk.

Disney has not set a date for this update, so we’re not sure when this will happen. For now, we’ll probably only see routine maintenance.

Walt Disney World Railroad

He Walt Disney World Railroad is also closed in Magic Kingdom, and this trip has no reopening date yet.

The attraction was closed due to some renovations and also due to the construction that took place in Tomorrowland on the nearby roller coaster TRON: Lightcycle Run that disrupted the train tracks.

The railway will probably not be fully opened until the construction of TRON is completed, and we will keep you informed of any news about the schedules of these two attractions.

Disney’s animal kingdom

Everest Expedition

Everest Expedition – Forbidden Mountain Legend will close for a fairly long reform from From January 4, 2022 to mid-April 2022.

This trip takes guests on a journey through the Himalayas in search of the yeti. But during its closure, You can take a look at other popular attractions in Animal Kingdom with Kali River Rapids, Avatar: Flight of Passage and Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Looking for Nemo: the musical

Finding Nemo: The Musical is also closed in this park, and will return sometime in 2022 (although we don’t have a specific date yet) with some updates.

The new show will be based on the timeline of Looking for Dory, and will keep some favorite songs from fans of the original show.

EPCOT

Souk-al-Maghreb

The only closing scheduled for EPCOT in January is a gift shop at the World Showcase. The Souk-al-Maghreb in the Moroccan pavilion is still closed right now, and will be closed throughout January.

Still closed!

This gift shop is scheduled to reopen February 6, 2022. When it reopens, you’ll probably find some Moroccan-inspired memorabilia and trinkets, as we saw there before its long closing.

The Little Mermaid’s Journey

Two long-term closures continue in January at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Little Mermaid’s Journey is still closed, and has no reopening date yet.

The Fantasmic night show! will reopen sometime in 2022, but we do not have a specific date for his return.

Disney World Hotels

All-Star Sports

The only Disney World hotel that will be completely closed in January is Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

This hotel reopens March 31, 2022. If you want to stay at All-Star Sports, you can now book your reservations.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Some DVC villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are closed right now.

Disney is adding new pull-out beds to these rooms.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

They will also close a couple of swimming pools in January. The Flippin ‘Fins Pool (at the Little mermaid section of the resort) at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be closed from early January to late February. In the meantime, guests can use the Big Blue Pool Finding Nemo section of the resort) or the Cozy Cone Pool (at the hotel) Cars section of the station), both of which will remain open.

Flippin ‘Fins Pool

The Cozy Cone Pool will close in late February after the Flippin ‘Up pool reopens. This closure is expected to last until mid-April 2022.

Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge

At Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs pool (at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village) will be closed from January 2022 to April 2022.

Guests at Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village can head to the Jambo House area to use the Uzima Springs pool.

Disney World Transportation

The Skyliner

Skyliner is a popular means of transportation at Disney World where guests can travel across the sky on gondolas.

The Skyliner connects EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with some hotels such as Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

From From January 23 to January 28, 2022, the Skyliner will be closed for a brief refurbishment. During this time, Disney will provide alternative transportation for the routes normally covered by the Skyliner.

Disney World water parks

Typhoon Lagoon will reopen on January 2, 2022. This water park will have great menu changes and new snacks when it reopens!
